Overview
In November 2016, people in the city voted to create the Affordable Housing Trust Fund. This Trust Fund helps make sure there is affordable housing for families who don’t earn a lot of money.
The rules for the Trust Fund say where the money comes from, who manages it, and what it can be spent on. It is meant to help families who earn very little money, like those making less than half of what most families in the area make. In 2018, this meant families of four making about $46,000 or less. The Trust Fund also makes sure that at least half of the money goes to families making even less—around $27,000 for a family of four.
