What We Do

The Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MIMA) is your bridge to vibrant immigrant communities in Baltimore. Our mission is to enhance community well-being, promote economic development, and foster the integration of immigrant communities. We want to help immigrants feel welcome and be a part of our community. Our mission is to make Baltimore a better place for everyone.

MIMA started in 2013 when people got together to figure out how to help immigrants in Baltimore. We're focusing on two important things: Economic Growth and Community Well-being.

  • Economic Growth:
    • MIMA helps immigrants find jobs and makes sure they have good places to live. This helps our city grow, and it helps employers find workers. We also want to make sure there are good homes and neighborhoods for all.

  • Community Well-being:
    • MIMA is working to make sure that city agencies, nonprofits, and community groups can help immigrants. We want to make our city safe and friendly for everyone, especially young people. Our goal is to welcome and include people from all backgrounds.

MIMA is here to make Baltimore a great place for everyone to live, work, and be a part of the community.
