What We Do
The Baltimore Planning Commission has served our city since 1947. Our mission is to help make Baltimore an even better place to live and work. We're a diverse team of nine members, including citizens, city leaders, and experts, all working together for our community's well-being.
Our main job is to plan how our city grows and make sure it's safe and organized. We help create budgets and make sure our city thrives in all the right ways. We also make sure land is used wisely and zoning rules are followed. We follow local and state laws so that our city stays a great place to live.
To accomplish all this, we rely on the team at the Department of Planning. We meet throughout the year. These meetings are open to the public, and you can even watch them online. This helps everyone stay up-to-date on what’s going on for the good of Baltimore.
