Through the Baltimore City Fire Department's 311 Smoke Alarm Program, residents of Baltimore City can receive free smoke alarms.

To request free smoke alarms in Baltimore City, you can call the Baltimore City Fire Department's Smoke Detector Hotline at (410) 396-7283 or 311. Firefighters will install 10-year lithium tamper-resistant smoke alarms on each level of your home within two hours.

The Baltimore City Fire Department also offers smoke alarms for the deaf or hearing impaired. You can request these alarms by calling the Office of the Fire Marshal at (410) 396-5752.
