Within the Baltimore City Health Department (BCHD), the Administration division consist of Equity in BCHD, Human Resources, and the Local Health Improvement Coalition (LHIC) that integrates several key components to effectively promote public health.
Equity in BCHD focuses on addressing disparities both internally and externally to ensure equitable access to resources, implement programs that aim to eliminate barriers. Human Resources is responsible for recruiting, training, and encouraging employment development to ensure the health department has a skilled and diverse workforce. the human resources division also handles employee relations, benefits, career opportunities, and focuses on fostering a supportive work environment.
The Local Health Improvement Coalition (LHIC), is comprised of various stakeholders, including community-based and faith-based organizations, health providers, foundations, and residents, that focuses on collective action, resource sharing, and community engagement to address and improve health outcomes inclusive for everyone.
