What is the minimum wage?

What is the living wage?

The current living wage in the City of Baltimore is $11.66 per hour.  

What is the prevailing wage?

The prevailing wages for the City of Baltimore are established annually by the Board of Commissions. You can look up a specific prevailing wage by visiting Wage Laws.

What is the wage for tipped employees?

The minimum wage for tipped employees is $3.63 per hour. 

How is overtime pay calculated?

Typically, overtime pay is calculated as (hourly wage) x (1.5). Overtime pay is owed to an employee for every hour worked over 40 hours.

What if I'm not sure about the wage I should be making?

If you are unsure about what wage you should be making or if you are owed a different wage, you can receive guidance and information from a Compliance Officer of the Wage Commission.
