Maryland Department of Aging’s Durable Medical Equipment Re-Use Program
The Maryland Durable Equipment Re-Use Program is a first-of-its-kind, statewide initiative that provides durable medical equipment (DME) to Maryland residents with any illness, injury, or disability, regardless of age, free of charge. You can donate your unused DME to the program.
Accepted donations
Acceptable DME donations include:
- Wheelchairs
- Walkers
- Crutches
- Canes
- Power chair rollators
- Shower supports
- Scooters
- Hospital bed
List of Acceptable Donation Items
What happens to donations
Your DME donations will be:
- Sanitized
- Repaired
- Provided to adults and children to improve mobility
Where to donate
To support this initiative, Baltimore City now provides two collection locations. These sites are facilitated by the Department of Public Works (DPW).
Northwest Transfer Station

Quarantine Road Landfill - Citizens' Convenience Drop-off:
