Fire flow test overview

A fire flow test is performed to determine the maximum flow rate the water distribution system can deliver to make sure that adequate water supply is available for fire protection. Fire flow tests are typically requested by engineers, developers, contractors, fire-suppression sprinkler companies and/or insurance companies.

The tests provide actual pressure and flow data measured at specific fire hydrants so that we can be sure adequate water is available for fire protection, sprinkler design, and sizing of domestic/first service lines to ensure public safety.
