Electric Vehicle Charging Program
More and more Baltimore residents are switching to electric vehicles (EVs) for a cleaner, eco-friendly way to get around the city. We're here to support this eco-friendly choice.
The Baltimore Parking Authority is teaming up with other city agencies to set up EV charging stations in public places like parking garages, parks, libraries, and other city-owned spots. One of our partners is the Baltimore Gas & Electric's EVsmart program.
PABC to Host Electric Vehicle Information Sessions
Both previously scheduled sessions have been postponed.
Those who registered will be notified of the new dates once scheduled.
Questions and accessibility needs can be sent to evcharginginfo@bcparking.com.
Expanding Our Efforts
We're working on getting over $400,000 in grants to add more charging stations all over Baltimore, both on the streets and in parking areas.
Our main goal is to make it simple for everyone in Baltimore to charge their electric cars. We want to have 30% of these charging stations in places known as "Equity Zones," where people might not have a lot of money. We want to help everyone in our city, no matter where they live, power up their EVs.

Partnerships
We have partnered with Baltimore Gas & Electric's EVsmart program to put in electric vehicle charging stations around the city.
Plans to Expand
The Parking Authority has applied for over $400,000 in grant money to help us expand the number of publicly owned charging stations in Baltimore City both on-street and off-street. This program aims to develop an extensive, accessible, and equitable public EV charging program for the City of Baltimore. Our goal is to have 30% of EV charging stations in Equity Zones, which are areas with the lowest 25% of median income.

If you want to learn more about electric vehicle chargers, the Department of Transportation has a website called "EV Basics" that can help.
Do you need to find electric vehicle chargers near your location? You can check out the PlugShare website or go to EVHype. They have maps showing where you can find these chargers. You can search for chargers by the company that makes them, the type of charger (like Level 2 or DC Fast), or the kind of plug they use.
Also, you can share your experiences about how fast these chargers work and what it's like to use them at different places.
And if you have an electric car or are thinking about getting one, or even if you own an apartment building, you might be interested in the Baltimore Gas & Electric's EVsmart Program. They offer rebates and tools to help you charge your electric vehicle faster and more conveniently. You can learn more about it on their website.
