A data-driven system to manage city programs and services
CitiStat identifies human, financial, administrative, or technological impediments to ensure effective city services. Reoccurring accountability sessions are held with City agencies to overcome obstacles. The team uses data collection and analysis to inform decisions related to efficiency and delivery of City services.
Mayor O’Malley instituted CitiStat in 1999 as the first of its kind to use data to enhance performance and accountability for City operations. CitiStat is guided by four tenets:
- Accurate and timely intelligence
- Effective tactics and strategies
- Rapid deployment of resources
- Relentless follow-up and assessment
