About Anne Gardner

Anne Gardner is the Chief of Staff for the Baltimore City Department of Finance. She assists the Finance Director with the day-to-day management of the Department and oversees the Human Resources and Communications teams.

Anne has worked in local government for a decade. Most recently, she served as Chief of Staff to the Deputy Commissioner of Finance at the New York City Administration for Children’s Services. There she assisted the Deputy Commissioner with overseeing the agency’s $3 billion annual budget, $2 billion in annual Federal & State grants, and the processing of thousands of payments to the agency’s providers annually. Anne began her career as an analyst on the Education Task Force in the New York City Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB). At OMB, she helped manage the Department of Education’s $27 billion budget and worked on several mayoral initiatives including the Universal Pre-K and 3-K programs.

Anne earned a Master of Public Administration from Baruch College and a Bachelor of Arts from Miami University of Ohio.
