The Baltimore City Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) proudly announces the 2024 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This program offers free breakfasts and lunches to children and teens (ages 18 and under) in low-income areas during June, July, and August when school is out. The free summer meals help families stretch their food budgets throughout the summer.

The 2024 program operates weekdays from June 14 through August 23, 2024. Meals and snacks will be available at various sites, including recreation centers, schools, faith-based organizations, community centers, and other neighborhood locations across the city. To find meal site locations, visit mdsummermeals.org, text FOOD to 877-877, or call 211.

As an extension of the National School Lunch Program, which ensures eligible children receive free and nutritious breakfasts and lunches during the school year, the SFSP aims to provide these children with at least one nutritious meal daily during their summer vacations. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) through the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and is locally administered by the Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development and Baltimore City Public Schools.

Please note that SFSP sites will be closed on July 4. Site information is updated daily, so families are encouraged to check for other updates and specifics regarding operating schedules throughout the summer.
