About Brittany Vendryes, Esq.

Brittany Vendryes became the Executive Director of the Environmental Control Board (ECB) in August 2022. In this role, she in responsible for overseeing the operations of the agency, which is the adjudication of environmental citations, the appeal process for water bill and Water4All denials, and the management of the BMORE Beautiful community program. Under Ms. Vendryes’s leadership, the purpose of the ECB is to address quality of life issues through a fair and equitable hearing process that is also educational. Ms. Vendryes strives to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, to provide transparent and timely services to Baltimore City residents, property owners, and businesses.  

Ms. Vendryes is an attorney and administrator with 6+ years in service to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore. Originally from Miami, Florida, Ms. Vendryes moved to the metro DC area to attend Howard University School of Law. After graduating in 2013, she became a law clerk in the Seventh Judicial Circuit and passed three state bars: New York, Florida, and Maryland. With several options to her advantage, she decided to remain in Maryland and was offered an Assistant Solicitor position with the City of Baltimore in 2016. While with the Law Department, Ms. Vendryes handled many matters including tax sale cases and environmental citation cases. This lead her interest in joining the ECB as the Deputy Director, when the position was made vacant. She was hired in 2018 and remained in the position until 2022, when she was appointed to the Executive Director role. 

In her personal life, Ms. Vendryes is a first-generation Jamaican-American and an avid traveler. She has been to over 20 countries and over 20 U.S. states. She loves exploring new places and meeting new people; however, the best part of her travels is always returning home to the City she serves where she lives with her husband.
