About Alexis Blackmon

Alexis Blackmon is an advocate for diversity, inclusion, and LGBTQ rights. She has been a trailblazer in promoting understanding, acceptance, and equality for the LGBTQ community. 

 Born and raised in Washington D.C., Alexis developed a keen sense of justice and empathy from a young age. She pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work and Business Management from the University of the District of Columbia. In 2020, she received an Executive Certification in Non-Profit Leadership Management from Georgetown McCourt School of Public Policy to help her champion social change while making a profound impact in the lives of countless individuals. 

 In 2019, after more than two decades working for the Washington D.C. government, Alexis retired as the senior staff assistant for the Operational Safety and Health Administration. Since leaving her stint in Washington D.C., she’s held various leadership roles, focusing on LGBTQ affairs, advocacy, and philanthropic endeavors. She has worked tirelessly to challenge societal norms, break down barriers, and empower LGBTQ individuals to live their authentic lives. 

 Alexis has a genuine admiration for the LGBTQ community, and she continues to be a driving force in fostering understanding, compassion, and acceptance. Her passion for creating a more equitable society for all is an inspiration to us all. Alexis is a resident of the City of Baltimore in the Patterson Park community. She enjoys reading, traveling, and gardening. Alexis has an unyielding determination to drive social progress and champion social change.
