About Daniel W. Goldberg
Daniel W. Goldberg is the Director, Corporate and Revenue Compliance Division in the City of Baltimore Finance Department. Dan assumed his current duties in March 2021, creating a new division to supervise teams of financial analysts, operations personnel, and attorneys to ensure businesses operating within the City of Baltimore comply with the Baltimore City Code, with an emphasis on corporate rules and regulations.
Dan’s team manages corporate revenue collection efforts and negotiates complex multiyear contracts, leading to the recovery of tens of millions of dollars for the City. Dan is also coordinating the City’s efforts to fund energy efficient and renewable generation projects across multiple City agencies, securing payments for the City under the Inflation Reduction Act. Prior to joining the Department of Finance, Dan served as a Chief Solicitor in the City’s Law Department for 11 years.
Dan grew up the son of Foreign Service officers and moved frequently throughout Asia during his childhood. Returning Stateside, he graduated from James Madison University with a B.A. degree, and the University of Maryland School of Law, where he graduated with a J.D. degree. He also attended Beijing University and is proficient in Mandarin Chinese. Dan currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, Emily, and children, Nate, and Mariel.
